Do You Have A Child? Are You Using A Booster Seat On Your Car?

When it relates to to the safety of our children, there are no compromises. With that in mind, you have wasted the most time making your work to catch the most secure and most comforter auto seats that are available today. Dont forget that an ?A? grade does not mean that a auto car seat is less risky than one with a ?B? or ?C? grade, but just that it is easier to use. A auto seat that is simple to use its less likely to be used in an incorrect way though, and so could be less risky than a seat that is complicated to use and is used incorrectly.

However keep in mind when choosing a booster auto car seat for your babe: try not to choose out a particularly babyish print or style. Many boys are unnecessarily injured in car accidents because auto seats are used wrong or not used at all, babies are being placed in the bad type of auto seat, and they are removed out of a auto car seat and into normal seat belts at too very early age. Consider purchasing a Booster Seat only when your kid is just about 40 pounds.

A booster seat could be used once your small kid outgrows his forward facing seat, in two ways by getting pass the weight requirements or if his ears have gone over the top of the seat. The two types of booster seats have to be belt-positioning boosters (preferred) and shield boosters (The AAP do not suggest the use of shield). Use a booster until your kid is all ready for regular seat belts when he is just about 80 pounds. So, to make the bumpy ride wonderful and more safe remeber to always use booster seats going for a journey.

The Safety of the Family is the most important thing when going for a travel, dont put at risk your childs safety, use booster seats with the recommendations given above, bless you.

Back To School With Newly Empowered Student Laptops

Some new offerings for Intel and Nvidia will put more punch in your new student laptop. See why going back to school with one of these empowered laptops will turn a few heads...

Copyright (c) 2008 Titus Hoskins

Within the last several months we have seen some major developments in laptop technology that will greatly increase the usefulness of laptops for college students. Both Intel and Nvidia have introduced new products which will improve laptop performance immensely.

New Intel Centrino 2 Platforms

First, Intel has introduced its next generation processors which uses 45nm technology with hafnium-infused circuitry. These new Intel Montevina Centrino 2 Platforms offer greater performance and better energy efficiency.

For example, Intel's new X9100, a 3.06GHz 45nm dual-core mobile processor uses 1066MHz FSB and has 6MB L2 cache - more than enough power or performance for the most demanding tasks students can throw at it.

New Nvidia High-End Graphics Cards

Second, Nvidia has released new mobile cards in its series 9 product line which will greatly impove the performance of laptops.

Nvidia which is considered one of the top Graphics Card makers in the world has announced it is introducing five more high-end Cards: GeForce 9700M GT, 9700M GTS, 9800M GTS, 9800M GT and the 9800M GTX.

These cards will have DirectX 10 graphics, Hybrid SLI support and will sport the new PureVideo HD video processing which is compliant with MXM 3.0 Graphics module specs. These are top-notch cards with the 9800M GTX sporting a whopping 128 Processing Cores.

These GPUs will no doubt put some more added punch in the latest gaming laptops but they will also improve the performance level of student laptops especially for those college students who major in computer programming, media or video, graphic design or architecture... we tend to forget, top-level graphics is not always used for gaming. Parents take note!

What To Look For When Buying A Student College Laptop

If you're buying a student laptop for yourself or for a son or daughter there are certain things you should consider before plunging down your hard earn cash. Just some things you should look for in a high quality student laptop.

1. Sturdy

You must have a laptop which is sturdy and tough in order to survive in the sometimes harsh student environment. Make sure your chosen laptop can take all that punishment - you might even consider a ruggedized notebook.

2. Portable

Many students go for a small compact laptop which can be neatly tucked under the arm or in a backpack. Long battery life is also important if you're going to be taking your laptop to all your classes. Also make sure it has all the necessary wireless connections so that the Internet is available wherever you go.

3. Performance

As we have just read above, laptops are becoming more powerful and offer greater performance than ever before. You should have no problem finding a student laptop that will meet all your computer or multi-tasking needs. However, a prudent laptop buyer should always check the type of Processor (CPU), how much RAM, Hard Drive size and the OS (Operating System) of any laptop you choose to buy.

4. Cheap Laptops

Lets face it, for most students, money is often very limited so buying a high quality, yet economical laptop is a must. Fortunately, laptop prices have been steadily dropping so finding a laptop you can afford should not be a problem. You can also consider a used or refurbished laptop.

5. Theft and Security

One of your top concerns should be theft and security when buying a student laptop. You can now get many security measures such as fingerprint entry - some now even have face recognition software as seen in the new Lenovo laptops. You can also invest in a good Laptop cable lock which will keep your laptop a little more secure. Plus, you can also check out Anti-Theft software such as LoJack which can track and locate your stolen laptop thru the IP address once it's used to access the web.

So if you're in the market for a student laptop just keep some of these points in mind when you're shopping around for that special laptop. Also remember to look for all that new mobile technology which will greatly improve the performance level of your next student laptop.

Wolfberry: The World?s Most Nutritious Food?

For a berry with such an intimidating name, the wolfberry certainly has a lot going for it. Wolfberry comes from the Mandarin name Gou qi zi (?goo-chee-zee?), a red berry from the Solanaceae nightshade family that includes tomato, eggplant, chili pepper, and potato.

In popular English, gou qi zi (literally ?wolf?+ ?energy?+ ?berry?) has become ?goji.? For at least 2000 years, the wolfberry has grown wild in China and been used in common recipes and traditional Chinese medicine. Eighteenth century Chinese farmers nicknamed gou qi zi ?wolfberry? when they saw wolves feasting among the berry-laden vines during late summer at prime harvest time. Smart mammals!

The Chinese revere the wolfberry as a national treasure regarded as among the most nutrient-dense of the nation?s plants. This premise has stimulated scientific investigation about its potential health benefits and systematic cultivation, commercialization, and now increasing export to first-world countries mainly in Europe and the US.

A significant source of macronutrients

The wolfberry contains significant amounts of our body?s daily macronutrient needs, including carbohydrates, proteins, fat and dietary fiber. The content of a wolfberry consists of 68% carbohydrates, 12% proteins, and 10% each of fiber and fat, giving a total caloric value of 370 per 100-gram serving.

Soybean, another ancient Chinese plant often touted as one of the world?s most complete foods, is comparable across macronutrients. Although wolfberries and soybeans are similar in macronutrient content, wolfberries provide a significantly higher source of calories as energy from carbohydrates (soybeans = 173 calories). Blueberries, by contrast, do not have as much macronutrient or caloric value.

The wolfberry seeds are equally beneficial, and contain polyunsaturated fats like linoleic (omega-6) and linolenic (omega-3) acids.

The wolfberry?s big story on micronutrients

Wolfberry?s diverse and high concentration of micronutrients has earned it accolades as an exceptional health food. At least 11 essential minerals, 22 trace minerals, 7 vitamins and 18 amino acids define its extraordinary micronutrient richness, with examples below:

1.Calcium: The primary constituent of teeth and bones, calcium also has a diverse role in soft tissues where it is involved in cardiac, neuromuscular, enzymatic, hormonal, and transport mechanisms across cell membranes. Wolfberries and soybeans contain 112 mg and 102 mg of calcium per 100 grams serving, respectively, providing about 8-10% of our required daily intake.

2.Potassium: An essential electrolyte and enzyme cofactor, dietary potassium can lower high blood pressure. By giving us about 24% our daily needs, (1132 mg/100 grams), wolfberries are an excellent source of potassium, providing more than twice the amount than soybeans.

3.Iron: An oxygen carrier in hemoglobin, iron also is a cofactor for enzymes involved in numerous metabolic reactions. When intake is deficient, low iron levels cause iron deficiency anemia, a condition that affects millions of children worldwide. Wolfberry?s exceptional iron content is twice that provided by soybeans, often regarded as the best plant source of iron.

4.Zinc: Essential for making proteins, DNA and the functions of more than 100 enzymes, zinc is involved in critical cell activities such as membrane transport, repair and growth, especially in infants. The zinc found in wolfberries (2 mg/100 grams) has a high content (double the amount of soybeans), that meet 20% of our daily requirements.

5.Selenium: Sometimes called the ?antioxidant mineral?, selenium is often included in supplements. Selenium has unusually high concentration in wolfberries (50 micrograms/100 grams), almost enough for our daily dietary intake, and much more than blueberries and soybeans, which contain 8 micrograms or less per 100 grams.

6.Riboflavin (vitamin B2): An essential vitamin supporting energy metabolism, riboflavin is needed for synthesizing other vitamins and enzymes. A daily wolfberry serving (1.3 micrograms) provides the complete daily requirement for our bodies, whereas soybeans and blueberries contain only trace levels of this important mineral.

7.Vitamin C: A universal antioxidant vitamin protecting other antioxidant molecules from free radical damage, the vitamin C content in wolfberries (20 mg/100 grams) is comparable to an equal weighting of fresh oranges, blueberries or soybeans.
Phytochemicals
Wolfberries contain dozens of phytochemicals whose health-enhancing properties are under scientific study. Three phytochemicals of particular interest include:

Beta-carotene: A carotenoid pigment in orange-red foods like wolfberries, pumpkins, carrots and salmon, beta-carotene is important for synthesis of vitamin A, a fat-soluble nutrient and antioxidant essential for normal growth, vision, cell structure, bones and teeth and healthy skin. Wolfberry?s beta-carotene content per unit weight (7 mg/100 grams) is among the highest for edible plants.

Zeaxanthin: Wolfberries are an extraordinary source for this carotenoid that plays an important role as a retinal pigment filter and antioxidant. Wolfberries contain 162 mg/100 grams.

Polysaccharides: Long-chain sugar molecules characteristic of many herbal medicines like mushrooms and roots, polysaccharides are a signature constituent of wolfberries, making up 31% of pulp weight in premium quality wolfberries. Polysaccharides are a primary source of fermentable fiber in our body?s intestinal system. During colonic metabolism, fermentable or ?soluble fibers? yield short-chain fatty acids which are known to:
1.Improve the health of the colon epithelial lining
2.Enhance mineral uptake
3.Stabilize blood glucose levels
4.Lower pH and reduce colon cancer risk
5.Stimulate immune functions
Polysaccharides are also known to help in antioxidant activity and defending against threatening oxidants.

Functional Food and Beverage Applications

Wolfberries, which are prized for their color and nut-like taste, are cultivated for a variety of food and beverage applications within China. In addition, an increasingly amount is also used for export as dried berries, juice and powders of pulp. Not surprising, a major effort is underway in Ningxia, China to process wolfberries for ?functional? wine.

Despite no ?hard? evidence from clinical research, the myths of wolfberry?s traditional health benefits endure, including positive effects related to:
?Longevity
?Aphrodisia
?Analgesia
?Antiviral conditions
?Immune-stimulating properties
?Muscular strength
?Energy
?Vision health

In laboratory and preliminary human research to date, wolfberries have shown potential benefits against:
?Cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases
?Some forms of cancer
?Diabetes
?Premature aging
?Memory deficits
?Vision degeneration
?Lung disorders
?Other diseases of oxidative stress

Summary

Although not adequately demonstrated yet in published research, a synergy of antioxidant carotenoids (primarily beta-carotene and zeaxanthin) with polysaccharides suggest that wolfberries are an exceptionally rich antioxidant food source.

Micronutrient density, combined with key health phytochemicals like carotenoids and polysaccharides, give wolfberries their remarkable nutritional qualities. All things considered, it?s no wonder this berry is vying for honors as the most nutritious plant food on Earth.

Expand your health horizons, try wolfberries!

West Virginia Home Buying

Maybe you?re buying your first home in West Virginia, or perhaps you?re relocating to West Virginia from another state. Either way, it?s important that you educate yourself on West Virginia home loans before shopping for a home and mortgage. This article explains what you?ll need to know before buying a home in West Virginia:

The median price of a home in West Virginia is $72,800. Homes in West Virginia appreciate at a lower rate than that of average national home appreciation; however, they do appreciate at a modest rate. The rate of job growth in West Virginia is below the national average, and income levels in many parts of West Virginia are too low to purchase a median-priced home with a conventional loan.

Average mortgage interest rates in West Virginia are just slightly above the national average interest rate. Income levels in West Virginia are amongst the lowest in all 50 states; however, home prices are also amongst the lowest in all 50 states. Nationally, West Virginia has the lowest number of individuals over the age of 25 whom have Bachelors degrees.

The state of West Virginia has certain laws pertaining to home equity lines of credit (HELOCs) and second mortgages. For example, in West Virginia, the draw period on a HELOC is five years, and, after that period of time, the borrower then has fifteen years to repay the balance of the loan. The minimum credit line on a HELOC in West Virginia is $15,000.

Borrowers have three days after signing a HELOC contract and paying their fees to change their mind and cancel the loan. Borrowers who decide not to take the line of credit within three days will be refunded all fees paid. Additionally, West Virginia law does not allow interest rates on subordinate mortgage loans to exceed 18% per year.

Jessica Elliott recommends that you visit Mortgage Lenders Plus.com for more information about West Virginia Mortgage Rates and Loans.

Why You Must Have A Residential Lease Agreement

Renting a home; whether the unit is a single detached house, a two-storey apartment, a modest condominium or a swanky penthouse suite, is not as easy as everyone perceives it to be. It involves more than having money change hands every week or month, depending on what payment terms have been agreed upon by both parties. Renting a home is about working together. It?s about understanding the requirements of one another, and adapting to the codes of conduct specified by each.

In some instances, especially if the landlord and tenants have known each other for long periods of time, a gentleman?s agreement (a verbal contract) would normally suffice. However, sometimes, even the best of friends have falling outs due to money matters so, to prevent this from happening; and to clearly spell out the duties and responsibilities of each; it is still best that a formal contract be written and that these be signed by all the parties involved. Formal contracts for properties that are rented out as private dwellings are called residential lease agreements. Not only do these specify how much the unit will be rented out, all the other terms and conditions: from the rules and regulations that shall govern the new tenant, to the responsibilities that shall be borne by the landlord, and the appropriate ?penalty clauses? are to be specified in writing on this document.

Generally, there are two kinds of lease agreements, and these are based on the duration of one?s stay in the residential unit. For short-term and/or indefinite leases, the contract both parties normally use is called a month-to-month rental agreement. Long term leases, or those wherein the tenant will stay in a property for years at a time, are covered by a more comprehensive contract called a Lease Agreement.

These two contracts, the Lease Agreement and the Month-to-Month Rental Agreement, are both considered legal documents and will stand in any court of law. Thus said, it is very important that the contents of these documents are well written and easily understood, most especially by the parties involved.

In previous years, residential lease agreements could only be prepared by real estate agents or lawyers. Not only was this process time consuming, it was also an additional cost that usually had to be factored into the rental rates. Luckily, tenants and landlords no longer have to go through this tedious process as they are now able to prepare residential lease agreements by themselves by downloading an editable version from one of many real estate related websites found on the internet.

Many are apprehensive about using downloadable forms because they fear that the content and format may not necessarily conform to the standards set by local or state government offices. However, the developers of such sites have invested much time and energy to ensure that these documents, although considered somewhat generic, meet the requirements of any official business or government entity. Because these forms can be opened using any standard word processing program, the contents can easily be modified to suit the specific needs of the users.
